Alice
Cooper: Golf Monster
Alice Cooper: Golf Monster is a very exciting book about a
notorious shock rocker who gives up alcohol for golf. He writes about his childhood experiences:
from moving five times a year to his bout with appendicitis. I loved this book because of its funny
stories and his life as a rock star. Alice grew up in Phoenix
and moved to Detroit
to make his name. After becoming big, he
plays at a Rock N’ Roll Revival Show with John Lennon and the Doors, but
strangely, his band gets more attention for “killing” a chicken. They finally get a producer, Bob Erzrin, who
helps them with sound by giving Alice
singing lessons and the rest of the bands lessons. They released the Love it to Death album,
with the hit song “I’m Eighteen,” which became their anthem until the legendary
“School’s Out” came out. After that, the
rest is history, because he makes it big.
The information in this book is very accurate. I recommend this book because it mixed two
very different things: rock and golf.
I’m not a golfer, but I really liked the stories of Alice Cooper and his
life in rock n’ roll. It’s full of
comedy and tips on how to be a good golfer.
