Alice Cooper, the Biography

Alice Cooper was born in Detroit, Michigan,
on February 4, 1948 to Ella and Ether Furnier.
His birth name was Vincent Damon Furnier, but changed his name to Alice
Cooper to protect the band name. He was
named after his Uncle and Damon Runyon.
He grew up with no interest in music, but instead in sports. At age eleven, he nearly died when his
appendix burst. The doctors said he had
less than a 10% chance of surviving. He
survived, and he later formed a band called the Spiders. They won a talent show, and the prize was a
free trip to LA. The band changed their
name to Alice Cooper, and they scared all the hippies away. After they decided to move to Detroit, the band made
their name there. After the hit “I’m Eighteen” came out, Alice Cooper was now no longer a joke,
they were a real band.
