The Cultural Revolution
The Cultural
Revolution was a time between 1966 and 1968 where Chairman Mao is trying to
have complete rule in China.
Chairman Mao
decided the best China
would be one where there are no classes, and everybody works together. He closed schools, and wanted children
in the schools to join the Red Guards, which helped achieved his goals for the
country. Chairman Mao promoted
censor-ship to keep the people in line.
He told the Red Guards to tell people to criticize writers, economists and anybody who knew or worked for Liu Shao-chi, because she was a threat to him. In 1968, Liu Shao-chi was removed, and Chairman Mao
decided to discontinue the project of Revolution because his leadership seemed
secure.
