KAUAI, HAWAII

Kauai, Hawaii is the hometown of Bethany Hamilton.
This Hawaiian Island
is known as the Garden
Island and its beauty is
33 miles long and 25 miles wide. It
is known for the beautiful mountains, and swaying palm fringed beaches. The
island is very secluded with the population only at 58,400 residents. With the
population being so low it helps bring back the feeling of “Old
Hawaii”. The climate is
usually tropical
but also can be very wet. The island has Mt. Waialeale
which is the wettest spot on the earth. At average it receives 480 inches of
rain a year. It also contains more sandy beaches then any other Hawaiian Island
and 3 of the top 10 golf courses in Hawaii. Kauai
is home to many rare birds and plant species. If visiting the island, it is
famous for their helicopter tours which help to give you a full look of its
beauty. Also you can go hiking on the Waimea
Canyon which is known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”. Although Kauai is the oldest Island in Hawaii, it’s known
to be one of the most beautiful.
