Michael Jordan was, is, and will forever be considered one of the best basketball players to ever step foot on a basketball court.  He got cut when he tried out for his freshman basketball team.  But http://www.jordanextreme.com/photo24/9596PippenBenchGatoradeJordan.jpgthat did not even come close to stopping him!  He went to the University of North Carolina and won a national basketball championship in college.  He graduated from college and was drafted 3rd overall pick from the Chicago Bulls in 1984.  He won many awards while in the NBA such as defensive player of the year award.  He also won six National Championships and was the MVP for all six.  He got the nickname “Air Jordan” because of his slam-dunk winning dunk where he took off from the free-throw line.  He was named the second greatest North American athlete by ESPN, just behind Babe Ruth.  He was a great basketball player and will continue to be remembered as one of the best for years to come.
