Tiger Shark                                Tiger Sharks

The tiger shark only lives in tropical waters and is named for the intricate stripes on its back. Its wide mouth, broad nose, barrel chest, and the slenderness at the base of its tail are distinctive. All of these attributes combined with its jaw strength help them to cut the bodies of large sea turtles, seals, and sea lions. The usual sizes of these sea animals is usually 10 to 12 feet but they can get up to 20 feet long. Usually tiger sharks are very sluggish and slow but in times of need they can move quickly when feeding. The sharks can be very dangerous and people should take caution when the sharks are spotted on the beach or reefs. People should also keep the shark in sight at all times if they are in the water and spot one before leaving.
