Iditarod

This prestigious race can be compared to none other in the world.  It spans a total of 1,122 miles across the Alaskan Turf.  The mushers and their dogs must go through treacherous winds and snow, climb mountains, and brave the arctic temperatures.  There are a total of 25 checkpoints where the mushers can rest and tend to their dogs.  The dogs had many ways of becoming injured on this race.  It is the mushers' responsibility to take care of and treat his dogs with the greatest of care, so they can be the team to become victorious.  While the scenery may be beautiful, the mushers only have one thing on their mind, winning.  This race represents the not so distant yesterday that the Alaskans honor and are proud of.

If this race doesn’t push the mushers to their limits, I don’t know what will.
